Life’s Entropy Lip Theories – First Impressions

May 4, 2016Rachel Rose Mitchell4107 views

Hey! It’s been a while since I was last able to write. Got some reviews on the burner and some other posts I never had the chance to finish, but for now I’m going to ramble about a nice indie vegan company if that’s okay! A lot of this was copied from a Facebook  post of mine but I’ve cleaned it up, I swear.

Apologies if you’re only here for my music and news related to that. I’ve been wanting to do posts like this since forever. I understand if this is totally irrelevant haha.

My Life’s Entropy (and Dollskill but shh we’re talking about LE) order arrived yesterday! Shipping took a long time but that’s on USPS and AusPost, not LE. I ordered five Life’s Entropy Lip Theory liquid lipsticks in the shades Catalyst, Valence, Equilibrium, Antibond and Dipole and from what I’ve seen so far they’re wonderful.

Last night I tried on Dipole, an iridescent duochrome purple/blue and was surprised both by how dark and how opaque it was. It seems darker than the website swatches but I did try it on late at night under weak artificial lighting and I’m also a frosty frosty mayonnaise snowman so quite a few things pull super dark on me.

It didn’t last through my meal. I don’t fault it for that – vegan spaghetti bolognaise claims another victim. However it did feather a little bit, so I’m going to pick up Australis’ invisible lip liner and see if that does the trick. I’ve been meaning to anyway.

I popped Catalyst on after lunch today and it was a gorgeous nudey pinky greige on me. Looking at it in the tube and on the applicator I was worried it’d be too warm toned for me. Luckily, I was wrong. Quite a few people around indie communities say it’s an amazing My Lips But Better shade and I think they’re right! This one did last through food – two cups of tea, a drink of lovely warm almond milk and a banana. I didn’t notice any feathering, either.

I haven’t tried Valence (nude with gold shimmer), Equilibrium (deep sparkly red, looks cool toned on the applicator) or Antibond (grey mauve) yet but I’m excited!

The packaging for shipment was pretty good. My whole order was sent to me in one of those bubblewrap mailers. Inside the mailer were my five pretties and that little envelope with that adorable wax shaped sticker seal. The envelope had a business card at that baggie to the left of the picture.

I wasn’t expecting a sample so I was chuffed to find the bag of Pink Dolphin eyeshadow. It’s not a shade I would have picked myself but seeing it in real life I may grab it if I order from LE directly again! It’s a lovely salmon/coral pink with an intense gold shift. Seems very finely milled and wonderfully made.

Sorry about the marks on the midi keyboard. Been trying to remove those.

I’d like to swatch all the shades but the weather was crazybananas today and I couldn’t get good lighting. Sucks, but what can you do? Anyway, I wholeheartedly recommend this entirely vegan company! I’mma copy this across to my blog or something, mofo turned into Homer’s Odyssey while my back was turned. HA HA NEVER MIND I ALREADY DID THAT

I’m hoping at some point to get a proper detailed swatch and review up for all five shades. Also for Pink Dolphin. With a bit of luck I’ll be able to polish off some of the other reviews I’ve half written and then I can move onto that. I’ve also got the contour sticks in three shades on the way from Femme Fatale, so I’d love to talk about those too.

You can find Life’s Entropy here at their website! Prices are pretty amazing. If you’re in Australia, it might also be worth ordering from Femme Fatale. However, if you want to buy quite a few products at much it still might be cheaper to go direct with LE.
